At this time, RaiseMe is only for students attending school in the United States or select eligible international high schools (9th-12th grade), community colleges, or four-year colleges (for students intending to transfer to another 4 year college). RaiseMe also serves educators who work with students, find out more here.
- I'm a middle school student
- I'm a 9th grader at a middle school or junior high
- I'm in the 12th grade
- I'm a college student at a four-year institution
- I'm a community college student
- I have already graduated from high school but I don't attend college yet
I'm an 8th grader taking high school classes
Student Portfolios should include everything completed in the 4 years before graduation - this is nearly always 9th-12th grade. Therefore, classes taken in 8th grade, even for high school credit, cannot be included.
If it is the end of a student's 8th-grade year and they want to sign up for RaiseMe, they can, but please note the following: students should use an email they can remember easily and will continue to have access to over the next few years. They should select their future high school, not their middle school when signing up. And if their graduation year is not available yet, they can select the one before but should update it in the fall (which is very easy to do.)
I'm a 9th grader at a middle school or junior high
If you are a 9th grader at a junior high or middle school that goes up to 9th grade, contact our support team and let us know what your school is, so we can help you get signed up.
I'm in the 12th grade - is it too late?
12th graders can use the site earlier in the school year, but our college partners set a specific earnings deadline, which can be as early as August or as late as April. They set their deadlines for specific reasons, usually related to how they allocate funds, and we're not able to adjust those or make exceptions.
For example, a school might have an earning deadline of November 1st, so if it's November 15th, you are no longer eligible to earn from that school on RaiseMe.
In most cases, if a student has already applied and/or been accepted to a college and is sure they are going there, RaiseMe is no longer a helpful resource.
I've already been accepted to college, and they partner with RaiseMe - is it too late for me to create a Portfolio?
Yes, it is too late: if you have been accepted to a college, you cannot earn additional scholarship money to that school by signing up for RaiseMe and creating a Portfolio.
You're welcome to sign up for RaiseMe if there are other colleges you're still waiting to hear back from, but if you have been accepted to a college already and offered financial aid, creating a RaiseMe Portfolio after that will not impact your financial aid package.
I'm a student at a four-year college
Four-year college students can utilize RaiseMe if they are intending to transfer to another four-year college. Students currently enrolled in college who are not intending to transfer cannot use RaiseMe to earn micro-scholarships to their current institution.
I'm a community college student hoping to transfer to a 4-year college
Community college students planning to transfer to a four-year college can now use RaiseMe. Please check out www.raise.me/transfers! For more information, please check out our College Students Getting Started Guide!
I have already graduated from high school but I don't attend college yet
At this time, we only support students who are currently enrolled in high school (9th-12th grade), community college, or four-year college. If you did not use RaiseMe before you completed high school or community college, RaiseMe is no longer a useful resource.
Still not sure if you're eligible?
Feel free to contact our support team (support@raise.me) so we can help!
