Raise.me validates Portfolio information in a few ways.
The honor code all students go through during sign-up states that if any of their information is found to be inaccurate, they stand to lose all of their micro-scholarships. Through our research, we’ve found that students' self-reported information is 95-97% accurate.
All college partners spot-check the student's micro-scholarship submission against their formal application, and if they discover any discrepancies, they are not required to fulfill any of that student's Micro-Scholarship commitments.
Colleges can choose to require that students have their profile endorsed by their college counselor or advisor at their high school prior to submitting their final "tally" their senior year. This is extremely uncommon, but if an endorsement is required, it'll be indicated on a college's "Your Scholarships" page when a student is logged in.
When a student requests an Endorsement, we send a link to that adult to privately review the student's profile, where they can either sign off, or flag anything that seems incorrect.
