Yes, these scholarships are real! Requirements must be met and students must provide accurate information on their Portfolio. Ensuring your information is accurate is necessary because college and university partners engage with students who are following them on RaiseMe and determine the micro-scholarships awarded to students.
The scholarship dollars come from the colleges, not RaiseMe. RaiseMe provides students the opportunity to earn those scholarships before they apply, rather than learning about the amount of scholarship dollars they are eligible for during the application process.
9th-12th grade students, community college students, and 4 year college students (intending to transfer to another 4 year college) can sign up and complete a profile. However, in order to guarantee the scholarship dollars students must do the following:
- The student must be Following the college by or before their earning deadline, and meet all eligibility requirements for the college by that date.
- The student must apply by the date indicated in the Requirements and Scholarship Requirements section on the college profile page.
- The student must be accepted to the college and decide to attend.
