Earning Deadline
An Earning Deadline is the day that your earnings will be locked in for a 4-year college, and that college will be sent the proper information for all students who are Following them who plan to transfer to that college in a specific entry term (for example, students with a planned transfer entry term of Spring 2019 will have their earnings locked in for a given 4-year college on that college’s deadline for Spring 2019 transfers). A student must Follow a college by the earning deadline for the Planned Transfer Term they’ve selected on RaiseMe, so RaiseMe can submit them automatically. There is no manual option for submitting data. All other eligibility requirements must also be met by this date.
Where can I see the earning deadline?
- The college’s profile page: you’ll see the earning deadline on the Scholarships tab when you click to expand the “Scholarship Requirements” section.
- Your Portfolio: 30 days before the deadline you’ll see a red flag on all colleges you’re Following that have an upcoming earning deadline.
- College Search: Looks a little different when your Planned Transfer Term is coming up! All those deadlines are the earning deadlines. The super close ones are red.
- If a college you follow has an earning deadline that has passed, you will see it on the right-hand side of your Portfolio, as well as the college's page
What happens if the earning deadline has passed?
Our college partners set a specific earning deadline for each available start term they offer for transfer students. Once the earning deadline passes for students with a certain Planned Transfer Term, RaiseMe is not able to submit any more information to the college, and students with that Planned Transfer Term are no longer able to earn scholarships on RaiseMe. Additionally, if a student has already applied and/or been accepted to a college, RaiseMe is no longer the right resource for seeking scholarships, and cannot supply additional funds to students (because we don't offer direct scholarships.)
Please note, the earning deadline and application deadline are often different. For more information, please check out this article about application deadlines.
Can I add courses if I might not have grades before 4-year colleges’ earning deadlines for my planned transfer term?
Yes, you can add your courses at any time! If you add your courses in before receiving a grade, please make sure to go back later in the year to add your official grades. Please keep in mind that once the earning deadline passes, your earnings will be locked in and RaiseMe is not able to submit any more information to the college. For example, if you’re transferring in Fall 2019 and a 4-year college you're following has an earning deadline of 10/1 for Fall 2019 transfers, any courses or achievements added after this date will not count towards earnings.
