Our Give $50, Get $50 feature allows college students to earn transfer micro-scholarships from four-year colleges just by sharing RaiseMe with other students.
How do I earn this micro-scholarship?
- On your desktop, log in and click the +$50 button on the top bar of your Portfolio. On the iOS mobile app, you will select "More" on the bottom right, and then "Invite Friends" at the top.
- Here you can enter emails of your friends to send invites, or copy your unique link and send it via any channel you'd like - Facebook, text, Instagram, whatever!
- When someone signs up from your invite/link and adds achievements like classes and extracurriculars, you'll both get $50!
- Be sure to Follow at least one college offering the micro-scholarships (see below, "Which college will award...")
Where does the money come from?
The money is an additional micro-scholarship - four-year colleges are willing to award you scholarship dollars for helping your friends succeed in community college and prepare to transfer! Like all micro-scholarships on our site, the money does not come from RaiseMe. It doesn't come from other students or from your teachers, either.
Which colleges will award micro-scholarships for sharing RaiseMe with friends?
Over 50+ college partners offer this micro-scholarship to college students, most with a maximum of $500 - which means you'll need 10 friends to sign up with your link.
To see which colleges offer this micro-scholarship, go to your Portfolio, click the +50 button at the top, and click the link to view participating colleges that you’re eligible for.
I invited people, but I'm not seeing the micro-scholarships. What's happening?
Make sure people have actually signed up from your referral! It's not enough to just invite them or for them to sign up on their own because you told them about it. They need to go through the email or click your link and sign up, and then add their first achievement to their Portfolio. .
Make sure you are Following at least one college who offers this micro-scholarship (follow the instructions above to view participating colleges!) and are eligible for their micro-scholarships. That means you'll need to actually fill out your Portfolio to have the right GPA and credits to be eligible.
As with all micro-scholarships, once a four-year college’s earning deadline passes for students planning to transfer in a given term, RaiseMe is not able to submit any more information to the four-year college. They set their deadlines for specific reasons, usually related to how they allocate funds, and we're not able to adjust those or make exceptions.
I told someone about RaiseMe and they signed up, but this was before I knew about the $50 deal. Can we still get the money?
No, if they have signed up already, neither of you can receive the $50 for that sign-up. However, you can both go ahead and invite more friends who are not yet on the site!
