Inviting and Connecting with Students

Educator accounts allow you to work alongside students to gain micro-scholarships via RaiseMe. In order to do that, you'll need to Connect with students.

Why do I need to Connect with students?

In order to see a student's Portfolio and the micro-scholarships they are earning, you'll need to Connect with them.

Do I need to be verified to Invite or Connect with students?

Yes, student privacy is a top priority, so you must be verified by our team before inviting and seeing students in your account. 

How to Invite Students

Once you're verified, you'll see a pop-up about inviting students. You can bring this pop-up back at any time by clicking the blue "Invite Students" button on the right-hand side of your dashboard. There are 2 ways to invite students:

• Enter/Copy and paste student emails separated by a comma, semi-colon, or in a list
• Copy the share link at the top and send that to students however you'd like!

What if some of my students are already using RaiseMe?

If you invite a student to use RaiseMe and they are already using the program, they will be prompted to log in, and then will be automatically Connected to you.

If you are working at an organization (that is, not a high school) then inviting students to RaiseMe using the link/our interface is the only way to Connect with them. See below for how to Connect with students at your high school if they are already using RaiseMe.

Connecting with Existing Students at your High School

If you are a counselor, teacher or admin at a High School (that is, you signed up under a high school and not an organization) then, after verification, you'll be able to see all the students already using RaiseMe. See the image below - you'll be able to see the list of students' first names and last initial, and can click "Connect," or use the "Connect All" option.

By default, you will be instantly Connected with that student after you click the button since you are verified to work at their high school. However, students can adjust this under "Privacy" in their Account Settings, which will require that they approve the Connection even if you are verified at their high school. 

I'm clicking my referral link but it keeps bringing me back to the Educator Dashboard!

This is because you're logged in already. When a student uses the link, they'll be prompted to either sign up or sign in and then will be connected to your account.
