Selecting Grading Periods
We offer 4 options for grading periods, and you select a default during signup:
- Quarters
- Trimesters
- Semesters
- Annual
You will also select A-F or 0-100 during this time as your grading system.
Once you select one of those, you'll be able to select which periods you actually received grades for, including options for Summer or Winter sessions of a class. For example, your school has quarters and you took Computer Science for Q1, Q2, and received a final grade, it would look like the image below. *Important note* if you did not receive a grade for Q4 for example, please select "no grade" from the drop-down.
Editing Grades
Now it's time to actually enter the grades you received. To get started, click the "edit" pencil icon on the course view. Then you can click "add course" to create a new entry or the "edit" pencil icon to edit a course! Only enter as many as you've been granted so far - if you are in the middle of a course, you could enter S1, but not S2, for example.
You can begin typing in the box for each grading period, or you can click on the box to see your options - and there are a lot!
If you need to change the grading system for an individual course, please click the pencil icon to the right of the course. A popup will appear where you can adjust grading period, grading system, whether you receive a final grade and more. To adjust the grading system, select A-F or 0-100.
Please enter the grade exactly as it appears on your report card or transcript. If you received a 93, for example, put 93, not A.
- Letter grades
- Numbers 1-100
- Pass/Fail
- Withdrawal
- Incomplete
Editing Grading Periods
To edit the default grading period, click the edit "pencil" icon and select your new default grading period. Please note, this will change the default for all future courses added!
To edit the grading period for an individual course, click the edit "pencil" icon, then scroll to the bottom of the popup window and use the drop-down under "grading period" to make the change! Important note, you must add the course name in before you can edit the course!
What is my "Final Grade"?
Your final grade should be the grade from the entire class, not the grade you got on a final paper or test. The final grade needs to match what your transcript will have on it.
If you do not receive a final grade for a course, click on the "Final Grade box" and click "No Grade." If you do not receive a final grade for any of your courses, you can uncheck the box under "Did you receive a Final Grade?" - see image above. Please note, this will set the default to no final grade for all future courses added.
